Seed School for Farmers

Starts Wednesday, September 16th.

Classes will be online via Zoom, Wednesdays, Noon - 2pm Mountain Time. Please check your email after you submit your registration to confirm. A link to the program and materials will be sent upon registration and each session will be recorded for later viewing.

Farmer Seed School Registration
Please enter the primary affiliation you want others in RMSA to know about your seed work especially seed businesses, seed exchanges, seed libraries, seed education non-profits and NGO's.
Each student will choose a cohort to meet with individually in addition to regular class time.
 
Casey O’Leary is owner of Earthly Delights Farm, an urban CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) and seed farm in Boise, Idaho. She is also a founder of the Snake River Seed Cooperative, a bioregional seed company and seed library serving the Inter-mountain West. She manages the SCRC producer’s cooperative, which includes 10 southern Idaho farmers who grow a variety of veggies, herbs, flowers, and native plants for retail sale. She holds a BAS in Horticulture and a BA in Spanish from Boise State University. Casey teaches Sustainable Urban Agriculture for the Horticulture department for the College of Western Idaho and serves on their Technical Advisory Committee.
 
Don Tipping is a dynamic and inspiring instructor with 20 years of experience in organic and biodynamic farming, seed saving, permaculture, eco-forestry and enthusiastic on-farm education. Don is the owner of Siskiyou Seeds and Seven Seeds Farm, where he teaches the Seed Academy. He helped to found the Siskiyou Sustainable Cooperative which manages a 300 share CSA, commercial seed growing, an equipment co-op and internship curriculum among 12 cooperating farms. Don is also co-founder of the Family Farmers Seed Cooperative, a seed grower, marketing and distribution cooperative comprised of 10 western organic farms.
Registration
Our estimated cost for running this course is approximately $229 per person. We invite you to contact us if you need a scholarship to attend. We do have some funds available. Please email Jackee@rockymountainseeds.org.
