We received our original seed stock from Greg Schoen
Growers Notes
John Sherck, Bristol, IN
Egyptian Wheat (a generic name at best and I wish I knew more about it’s history and parentage). I was impressed at the large seed heads and very short plants. Reminds me somewhat of Hourani, which is a ancient wheat from the Levant.
Greg Schoen –
Originally given as two commercial seed packets labeled ‘Ancient Egyptian’ to Greg Schoen, from a fellow seed steward. Grow-outs showed it to be a typical and good example of a Khorasan / Kamut type, with attractive grain heads. Matures at about 36 inches in an arid climate, taller in wetter conditions.
