This one was obtained from the collection of the late Anpetu Oihankesni, a grain explorer and grower in Hotchkiss, CO. Named for the decorative bag in the collection, with about 2 pounds of seed, with ‘Arizona’ on the bag’s artwork, it was otherwise unlabeled. It was grown out after Anpetu passed, by Greg Schoen in 2018 near Silver City, NM, and found to have robust deep green foliage, maturing at only 12 inches tall. A grow-out in Oklahoma in 2021 resulted in plants maturing at about 18 inches, in a wetter than usual season. Yield was good in both of these crops. Plants are tight and uniform. The six-row short heads produce a charcoal-colored hulled grain.
