Finger Millet/Ragi/MaalAAG_Mackenzie_Finger Millet

WK 1
I have chosen Finger Millet – I hope that counts as a grain!! Finger Millet was a traditional crop in Southern Rajasthan, is popular in South India and I recently learned was also traditionally grown in Uttarakhand in the Himalayas. I’ve heard old farmers say “We didn’t used to farm, we would just throw the finger millet seeds out on the hill and it would grow!” As this millet is also exceptionally nutrient dense and used to make roti I want to learn more about it, grow at least a little bit of it (that will be in next year’s monsoon season though) and find more ways to cook it.

(I also want to follow black wheat as a student has brought seeds to share…)
